Two changes on Franklin Road this summer are pulling Brentwood's sit-down breakfast toward one parking lot. In late July, Maple Street Biscuit Company closed its Hill Center location for good. In August, Big Bad Breakfast confirmed it is coming to Brentwood Place at 330 Franklin Road, where coffee, bagels, and Sunday brunch already open every week.
Once that opening happens, a weekend morning in Brentwood could start, stretch out, and end in one shopping center. If you already know where to get coffee, the useful part is the timing: what's open now, what's still a target date, and where to go once the breakfast kitchens close in the early afternoon.
The Biscuit Counter Hill Center Lost
FranklinIs reported on July 29, 2026 that Maple Street Biscuit Company had permanently closed its Brentwood restaurant at Hill Center on Franklin Road.
The closing came from a corporate deal, not the neighborhood. Cracker Barrel, which bought Maple Street in 2019, sold most of the brand to Biscuit Belly, LLC. The deal covers the Maple Street name and assets tied to 35 restaurants. Biscuit Belly plans to convert some of them, including the Murfreesboro store, over the next 18 to 24 months. The Brentwood and Nashville locations are not expected to be converted.
So the Hill Center biscuit spot isn't getting a new sign. It's gone.
The Bet on 330 Franklin Road
A couple of weeks later, Williamson Source reported that Big Bad Breakfast had announced a Brentwood location at Brentwood Place. It will be the chain's fifth spot in Middle Tennessee, after Franklin, Spring Hill, Nashville, and Murfreesboro.
Founder and CEO John Currence told WhatNow Nashville why he chose this center:
"It's situated in a center that's full of activity. The parking lot stays full all the time, and I can't think of another neighborhood in town that would be more perfect for us."
In that same interview, Currence said permitting delays had slowed the project and the restaurant was targeting a mid-October opening. No official date had been announced. The company's Brentwood page lists the space as Suite 226-B and still said "Coming Soon" when it was last updated on August 28. Treat mid-October as a target, and check before you drive over hungry.
When it does open, the menu will follow the chain's scratch-made approach. Jellies and jams are made in-house daily. Bacon, sausage, ham, and turkey come from a company-owned facility in North Alabama. Williamson Source also mentions skillet meals, biscuits made fresh daily, and brunch cocktails. Those include a Bloody Mary, a Mimosa, and the Breakfast Dude, made with cold brew, cream, vodka, Kahlua, and vanilla.
What Brentwood Place Already Serves Before Lunch
Currence's comment about the full parking lot makes sense once you look at the center's tenant list. Big Bad Breakfast will be the full breakfast kitchen in a center that already handles the rest of the morning. Here are the morning-relevant tenants from the center owner's directory, Regency Centers:
| Stop | Suite | Morning role |
|---|---|---|
| Bruegger's Bagels | 138A | Bagels |
| Crema Coffee Roasters | 904D | Coffee, espresso, savory breakfast, pastries |
| Smoothie King | 102A | Smoothies |
| Karrington Rowe | Brentwood Place | Sunday brunch |
| Big Bad Breakfast | 226B | Full breakfast, target mid-October |
| The Raven Book Lounge | 250B | Bookstore |
| Fleet Feet | 254B | Running store |
| New York Butcher Shoppe | 110A | Butcher for weekend groceries |
Crema stays open later than any of the sit-down breakfast restaurants. Its Brentwood shop opens at 7 a.m. every day and closes at 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Several B-wing tenants near Big Bad Breakfast's future space are built around kids. The directory lists The Children's Playroom at 246B, My Gym at 274B, and Mason Music at 276B. Mason Music took over the former Sky Studios space and held its reopening celebration on July 25 after a months-long renovation. Families with a Saturday lesson or class in that wing will soon have a breakfast table a few doors away.
The Early-Afternoon Cutoff
The established sit-down breakfast restaurants around town all close in the early afternoon. Here are their posted hours:
- The Perch, 117 Franklin Road: crepes, Belgian waffles, and specialty coffee, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
- Another Broken Egg Cafe, 4936 Thoroughbred Lane: Southern-inspired brunch with a full bar, daily 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- First Watch, 710 Old Hickory Blvd., Suite 307: daily 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
After about 2:30, those tables close. The coffeehouses stay open longer. The Well Coffeehouse at 690 Old Hickory Blvd., Suite 104, serves coffee and food until 5 p.m. every day, opening at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends. For dessert and a later coffee, CityPark on Executive Center Drive picks up.
Silver Fox Coffee Lounge held its CityPark grand opening on March 14, 2026. It serves coffee, espresso, and tea along with tartines, bowls, and pastries. Sweethaven, a family-owned dessert shop, opened its third location at 7011 Executive Center Drive, Suite B-105, and the Brentwood-Nolensville Record confirmed it was open by October 1. CityPark lists Sweethaven's hours as noon to 9 p.m. daily. The shop rotates more than 70 ice cream flavors, features a daily "Sweet 16," and offers dairy-free, oat-milk, and gluten-free options plus a sprinkle bar.
Sweethaven opens at noon and the breakfast restaurants close by 2:30, so there's only a short overlap. In practice, Brentwood Place covers the morning and CityPark covers the afternoon and evening.
A Saturday in Order
Here's one way to string the morning together once Big Bad Breakfast's doors open. Until then, swap the first stop for any of the breakfast spots listed above.
- Get to Brentwood Place early. Grab coffee at Crema, or bagels from Bruegger's if anyone can't wait for a table.
- Sit down at Big Bad Breakfast in Suite 226-B once it opens. Before then, The Perch at 117 Franklin Road is the closest crepe-and-waffle table on Franklin Road.
- Stay in the same lot. Browse The Raven Book Lounge, drop the kids at a Mason Music lesson or My Gym class, or pick up dinner from New York Butcher Shoppe.
- Head to CityPark in the afternoon. Sweethaven opens at noon, and Silver Fox Coffee Lounge is there for one more coffee.
On Sundays, Karrington Rowe's brunch gives Brentwood Place a second sit-down option. Confirm the hours with the restaurant before you go.
The one thing still open is the date. Mid-October is close, and the company has only shared a target. Check the Big Bad Breakfast Brentwood page or local news the week you plan to go.
Over the years, I've found that a buyer's first questions about Brentwood tend to be about routines like this: where to get coffee, where to eat on Saturday, what stays open later. If you want to compare how different parts of Brentwood fit your weekly routine, Urquhart Realty Company is glad to walk you through it. Schedule a free consultation, and we'll talk about what a typical week looks like from the streets you're considering.
